M.S.
We are seeking highly motivated students interested in assisting with sports science research objectives while pursuing a Master’s degree in Kinesiology (Focus area in Human Performance) beginning Fall 2021. Prospective students should visit the Graduate Programs web page for information about the MS degree program.
The primary focus of the sports science program will be to assist Dr. Harry with jump testing and load management assessments in collaboration with the strength & conditioning staff for the Men's and Women's Basketball programs at Texas Tech. Preference will be given to prospective students with experience both collecting data using force platforms (e.g., AMTI Accupower), accelerometers (e.g., IMeasureU), 3D motion capture (Vicon) and using/writing programs (e.g., Matlab) to analyze data. Prospective students without prior experience but have a strong interest in learning data collection and analysis skills are also encouraged to apply.
There is no funding available for assisting with the sports science objective. However, competitive teaching assistantships (TA) may be available to master's degree students. All students holding graduate TA positions receive several benefits including tuition and fee waivers in addition to a monthly stipend and other benefits as nine-month employees of the University. For more information about the potential availability of TA positions for Fall 2021, please visit our Graduate Assistantships web page or contact our Teaching Assistantships coordinator.
